The AGN Technology Uragan 2 700 Carbon 5.5mm is the second generation of the popular PCP air rifle from Czech manufacturer Airgun Technology. Uragan 2 builds upon the successful concept of its predecessor and takes it even further.
The redesigned monoblock is one of the most prominent features. Its new design allows for even easier change of the sidelever from the left to the right side. They also significantly improved built-in sound moderator, which is now even more efficient. AGN Techology outfitted the muzzle
with M14x1.25 threading, thus allowing for additional sound moderation. The unchoked, cold hammer forged CZ 700mm barrel also offers unrivaled accuracy at long ranges. Additionally, the Balanced Valve and regulator further attribute to accuracy and consistency.
Even the tiniest details were designed, of course, to give you the best possible shooting experience, with accuracy and reliability. This version comes with a large composite air cylinder with a capacity of 530cc and maximum fill pressure of 300 Bar. The pressure regulator ensures optimal performance with every shot, of course.
You get a high quality carbon wrapped thumbhole stock, as well as an adjustable rubber buttpad. It also features a non-slip handguard forearm beneath the air bottle. The 20MOA sloped Picatinny rail is made for long-distance shooting. You can find another mounting rail for accessories under the handguard, which itself features KeyMod slots for accessories.
The Biathlon sidelever has a very smooth action and you can easily attach it to either side. This makes it perfect for both left and right handed shooters. They also improved the trigger mechanism and the manual safety. This newly designed adjustable sports trigger features enhanced response and feel. Uragan 2's safety is ambidextrous, just like the stock and cocking lever. Furthermore, you can easily engage or disengage it with your index finger.
Balanced Valve
Balanced valves are designed to reduce the hammer strike and spring force required to open upon firing. It does not rely solely on the hammer spring to overcome the pressure on the firing valve. It basically equalizes the pressure on both sides of the valve. This has several advantages, of course. It not only makes for easier cocking, but due to the less required spring rate, it is easier overall on the gun's components. Trigger pull can be easier and lighter. The sear to hammer connection will not wear anywhere near as fast over the years. Hammer strike will be lighter, so less disturbance of the rifle in the firing cycle. Hence, lending better potential in overall accuracy.
For a really odd example, note the much higher accuracy at distance between the rather violent shot cycle of a springer compared to a PCP. The PCP is a much more dead shot cycle. The balanced valve, with its lighter spring, and resulting lighter hammer hit on the valve, carries this trait even further. A real step up in possible long range precision!
